 tour del vino

VALPOLICELLA
LAND OF COLOURS, FLAVOURS AND SMELLS AND HISTORICAL MONUMENTS
The "Wine Route" is realized through a variety of routes and paths along which you will be able to discover the nature, culture and environment, the vineyards and the qualified wineries that receive tourists in search of the wonders that this world has to offer. The area's oldest wine production, the Valpolicella Classico, coincides with the five municipalities of Negrar, San Pietro in Cariano, Marano di Valpolicella, Fumane and Sant'Ambrogio di Valpolicella. Located in the northern part of the province of Verona, nestled between the Adige on the west and the Lessinia on the north, Valpolicella is the land that gives birth to some of the most famous Italian red wines: Valpolicella, Valpolicella Superiore Ripasso, the sweet Recioto and the famous Amarone. The Wine production in this area dates back to the prehistoric times, and is strengthened with Etruscan and Roman influences. The cultivation of the vine reaches its climax in the Middle Ages to cater of wine the town of Verona, and subsequently also the nearby Venice. In the second half of the 19th century, the wine activity modernizes technically and organizationally: the specialized vine growing widens, the first social cellars develop and the exportation to the foreign countries starts.
The tour program will include the meeting with the Guide in Verona or Verona Nord. Then we reach by your bus and visit the Romanesque Parish Church of s. Giorgio. Later we visit a winery with wine tasting (€ 15.00 p/p with 5 Wines served with bread, salami and cheese).

Then we goes on for about half an hour to SOAVE
Soave is a little city of the East Verona Land, famous all over the world for its production of white wine, made up with the grapes called as GARGANEGA, being cultivated in the mixed calcareours-basaltic lands of its valley and other 3 neighbouring ones. The city is completely sorrounded by the Scaliger medieval walls of the middle XIV^ cent., dominated by a very well preserved castle (the best one of the Verona Land), and presents a medieval center rather integral even though small. Our proposal of visit starts with the meeting with the local guide at Porta Verona along the walls. Then we steer with your bus (or car) directly to the hill castle (compulsory reservation, entrance fee) for the interior visit. Later we walk downhills to visit the Old City with Piazza Antenna, the Palazzo Pretorile, Palazzo Cavalli, Palazzo Municipale, Porta Aquila Gate, the Palazzo del Capitanato and the Parrish Church with a Morone’s picture (XV^ c). Also we can reverse the tour by visiting first the Old City and then the Castle.
