Verona, with its several cultural and artistic expressions, is ready even this year to dive into the magical atmosphere of Christmas by offering a rich Advent calendar!
The town with its shimmering historical center, the Arena, the third largest Italian amphitheater and the Comet Star, a symbol of Christmas, houses the Christmas Markets offering food and wine specialties, gifts, Christmas decorations and the unmissable stalls of Santa Lucia.
As according to the tradition, the night of December 12th, Saint Lucia, accompanied by her little donkey, will bring to all children good sweets and toys.
From mid-November until Christmas, Piazza dei Signori will house the German-style markets, where the various exhibitors offer traditional hand-crafted products such as glass, wooden and ceramic decorations, many gift ideas as well as gastronomic specialties and delicious Christmas sweets.
But the city of Verona still offers many other events such as:
- Christmas in Piazza Bra, the 35th International Festival of the Nativities which runs from the end of November until January where over 400 specimens of nativity scenes from the most important international museums and private collections will give you spectacular representations of the birth of Jesus.
- The race of Santa Claus, the #christmasrun a non-competitive race of 5km or 10km ... .everybody strictly dressed as Santa / the days before Christmas!
